Ok folks, it’s time for us to accept that COVID is never going to end and soon we’ll all have monkeypox too. We’ve been putting off the #hotvaxsummer for too long and, frankly, we all need a little lot of fun.
Over the last few weeks I have found myself accidentally having unreasonable amounts of fun. I had probably the most fun I have ever had in Vegas a few weeks ago (I cannot recommend the show Absinthe highly enough), have found myself out well past my bedtime on school nights more times than my almost-40-year-old constitution can handle, and have weirdly seen too many amateur comedians in far too short a time span. During all of this I’ve had moments when I’ve realized “huh, I guess I’m a person who enjoys fun now”. Don’t get me wrong. Introverts gonna introvert and I will never, ever understand Zoom fatigue but the world is burning, California has literally zero water, and none of our pre-COVID clothes fit but still it has been so nice to go out with friends new and old and just do fun stuff.
This weekend is Memorial Day and to kick off my #doubleboostedhotvaxsummer I made sure to pack it full of lots of exciting outings and plenty of time for Stranger Things. My summer resolution is to stay out past my bedtime, drink lots of bubbles, and find as many hot pink N95 masks as I can.
We are living in an apocalypse. We may as well make the most of it.
Also, HOW COME NO ONE TOLD ME WE ARE IN THE GOLDEN AGE OF PALEONTOLOGY???
Watch:
Prehistoric Planet (Apple TV): David Attenborough does a nature documentary except it’s about dinosaurs and it’s the most amazing thing that has ever been on television.
Stanger Things (Netflix): Obviously
Listen:
Death Sex & Money- Hard (Podcast): This three episode series covers the advent of Viagra and it is very, very interesting.
Dance Fever- Florence and the Machine: NEW FLORENCE!! We don’t deserve her but what would we do without her.
