It’s Friday and I am sitting here 20 minutes from the Mexican border where last week it was in the 80s AND TODAY IT RAINED ICE. Not hail, but ICE. Freezing rain in April. So, since the apocalypse is finally nigh, you may as well go out and see the world while it’s still here.
If you have kids, you already know that the Minecraft movie is coming out today and you are probably going to see it. Or not? Is Minecraft still a thing? Is Paw Patrol? I don’t know, but you do, and that’s what matters.
The Hands Off protest is tomorrow. There is one happening in pretty much every city in the country although if you are in Boston you absolutely have to go because the Dropkick Murphys are performing and I would like to live vicariously through you. For the rest of us, there will be protests but without Dropkick so… I don’t know… I guess our Democracy is worth it anyways. Kind of.
Protests are great, and important, but they need to be followed up with action. An easy one you can do is to call your Member of Congress and tell them exactly what you think of President Musk’s actions and their inaction. Politicians need to be kicked, unlike mules which should not be kicked because they are sweet adorable animals.
After the protest, stay out and celebrate! You just did democracy! Much excited! Very wow!
Find a local farmers market or craft event, have a lovely little stroll, go to a museum. Do a thing that is pleasant and fun and takes your mind off of the impending not-zombie apocalypse. It’s all about balance. And then go home and have a Val Kilmer retrospective to honor one of our top five Batmans. Batmen?
And don’t forget to get some excellent financial advice from Jay Zigmont, author of The Childfree Guide to Life and Money, on this week’s episode of Choose the Bear.
Have a great weekend!
